Actually since I switched to a digital camera a few years ago, I am not using SLR camera anymore, but just a compact camera with reasonably good optics. Most pictures I posted were taken with a Canon Power Shot S3 IS, and I am quite happy about it as it is not too sensitive to extreme conditions (cold). It is a bit heavy, but quite robust and has a big optical zoom (6mm-72mm).

Though I don't even use a UV filter, it renders colours quite truthfully even at high altitudes. I also don't adjust the contrast/colour/etc. afterwards (except for 2-3 distant panoramas, which were extremely blurry).

Actually I was feeling just like flying when I was up there on the summit! Amongst my best mountaineering memories for sure!
