Great addition to the album!

Wonderful picture. I have never even seen one in the wild yet. Thank you for posting.

Thanks

This one didn't seem to mind me getting up close. Very cool critters.

John,

I knew somebody had to have a porcupine
posted, and I finally found it! Nice
specimen! I grew up with several porcupines
in the Oquirrh Mtns. of n. Utah. They
always hung out in an area called White
Pine Flats, and the locals called it
'porcupine flats.' Nice picture, John!!

Re: John,

Thanks Larry - I've actually seen a lot of these on the Western Slope of CO, esp. the Elk Range. They hang out near Crater Lake (often used as camp for the Maroon Bells). I was surprised not to find more porcupine pictures here on SP.

Nice shot

I have still never seen a porcupine in the wilderness, although I have seen a few echidnas. Thanks for sharing
