from the southeast side
I was in the area to meet up with friends and we decided to do this as a warm-up for Organ Needle. I was driving in to the 4wd trailhead when they were hiking out to the 2wd trailhead. I saw an abandoned rescue litter gurney just south of the use trail (uphill) on the way out not far from the 4wd trailhead.

Awesome hike!
What a great hike. Although there is no official trail to the summit, there is a well-worn user trail that makes this hike a bit easier than your typical trail-less, desert peak climb.

Great half day climb in Southern NM
This is a great climb that offers a little bit of everything. A fun way to spend half a day!
