North Couloir
North Couloir
Our original plan was to climb up this couloir, but little penitentes made the ski ascent difficult and when we tried to hike it up, the snow got too deep (we had a late start). So, we continued onto a Northwest Ridge, where the snow was better.
This photo does not show North Couloir very steep, but its higher section is 70 degrees with an overhanging cornice.
