Beautiful Hike  Sucess!

A wonderful and easy climb that we have done multiple times. Great hike to bring dogs, beautiful views the entire way up.

Along North Ridge via Summit Lake  Sucess!

Hiked along the ridge starting at ~9400' from Summit Lake. 6 miles round trip, but a bit arduous due to a couple of talus slogs/ bushwhacking bonanzas.. All class 1 or 2, we had a couple of 3rd class sections but they could be easily circumnavigated. Great hike and a beautiful peak!

Standard route  Sucess!

Much brushier than Moses and less interesting as a scramble or the views. Good thing there were Giant Sequoias scattered throughout the forest as consolation. Pictures

NW Slope  Sucess!

Got into some bushwacking on the way up from the second stream crossing that I mostly managed to avoid on the descent... or maybe was just going downhill. Then over to Moses in the afternoon.

North Ridge  Sucess!

But for the seemingly inevitable bushwhack not a memorable peak. Not much of a view from the summit.

Spring hike  Sucess!

Climbed with brother Jon. Camped at Hidden Falls and hiked from there, taking the turn advised by Holliman (below). Headed for the saddle north of the peak then turned south. Brush was not so bad -- was just being released by the melting snow.

Long Meadow Approach  Sucess!

It's easy to avoid the brush by going up the chute at about 7100 feet. Pretty much an easy cruise to the summit when not surrounded by chinkapin and manzanita.

Western bushwhack  Sucess!

Tried to take a shortcut to the regular ascent chute, and encountered some of the most miserable brush I've ever had to fight through in the Sierra. (It is best just to hike along the river to the base of the chute, 1/4 mi past the point where the trail crosses to the west bank of the river). Summit views are primarily of trees, with a few nondescript peaks off in the distance. This peak seems like it belongs on the HPS list.

Not the greatest peak on the SPS List.

Great SPS trip led by Jennie T and Greg R. Fantastic happy hour and great vibes equalled to enough mountain stories to keep me climbing for a very long time.

SPS trip lead with Greg R. We had 10 participants along for a great two day trip. Hiked in late Saturday, camped in Longs Meadow on Saturday night with a great happy hour. Then, did the peak on Sunday. Great trip with great people.
