missed the train
My advise is to bivvy on the balcony or the start of the route. Just get the train up nice and relaxed and 5pm, go to the start of the climb, set up your bivvy, brew a hot cuppa, enjoy the view out to the Rouges get a night of sleep, hit the route when its light and get the first train back down. This is the civilised way of doing the M. The uncivilized way is to walk all the way down to Chamonix and sit on the floor of the car park topless at 12am.
