North Pine Canyon
North Pine Canyon
While this road cuts to the left of the ridge in the center of this picture, North Pine Canyon is on the right side, with the green pine trees. Everything else in this area was dry and either dead or dying but these pines looked healthy and seemed to be thriving. My cross country route went up the ridge in the center.

BTW, note that the road goes right into the teeth of those paint scratching trees.
