I'll be damned...I was at the base of that peak last September. And, of course, I wondered what kind of hiking country it was. But we were intent on backpacking the Weminuche.

Re: I'll be damned...I was last in the San Juans 10 years ago. I had seen this peak many times from Route 550 but now that I got so close, it appeared much more impressive. Hope you had a good time in the Weminuche.

Re: I'll be damned...I had a great time in the Weminuche. Had trouble with the altitude and it took me the entire trip (eight days) to finally acclimate. I'll know that next time I head out to such high country.
