Made the route just as described, saw 11 bears including 4 on the trail as we hiked. We camped at the parking lot and got a 6 am start, later groups would likely not encounter as many bears but might get storms. The tube holding the logbook on top is cracked, if someone could bring a new waterproof container to the summit that would be good. The logbook is a standard sized notebook.
