Backpacked into Cataract Gulch to go for the seven bicentennials plus some other 13ers. I wasn't expecting such a great summit for NW Pole. I went to Pole Creek Mtn after this, got into a fast-developing t-storm on the way back (you're pretty exposed and a long way from home on this hike), which cleared up and let me also get Tundra Top and Cataract Peak before returning to camp.
Climbed Pole Creek Mountain & "Northwest Pole" after backpacking to Cataract Lake early in the morning. The summit area is very cool and this is certainly one of the more interesting 13ers in the state.
Lovely day, started at Pole Creek, did Pole Creek Mountain first, then over tundra to NW Pole. Loved the final scramble and tiny summit. Had a pizza for lunch and dropped down on the west side towards the Pole Creek Trail - the descent was steep and loose.
