Close-up of the notch at "Pyramid Peak" on the Sherwin crest from the west. When hiking along the crest from "Red Mountain", one approaches first the lower north summit. From there you have to downclimb to the notch on the west side, before the final ascent to the true summit. From the notch, a famous, extreme ski run called "Parachute" drops to the east side. Often times, one has to rappel down first to get into the chute. Mammoth Lakes Basin, August 27, 2010
