Nuptse in moonlight from Everest Base Camp

I was watching the moon waxing during the first half of May from Everest Base Camp. May 15, 2008 was a clear night allowing the moon to light up Nuptse (7861 M, 25,790') on the right for a nice view from EBC at approximately 9 PM.

Re: amazing

Yes in the photo the sky appears dark blue. Part of the reason for that is the long exposure with a digital camera. It seems to lighten the sky the longer the exposure it. This shot was taken on a tri pod using a device to allow for longer exposures.
