Overview

This is a nice, direct route up Muriel Pk from Muriel Lake. In general, it angles leftward and ends above the steep N buttress. It is not over by the snow couloirs. Expect route finding errors once on the face.

Route Description

From Muriel Lake, ascend the boulder field to the south and head west below the steep north buttress. At one point we had a vertical rock wall on our left shoulders. Scramble up a rounded slab east of dark broken rock.

Look for a large low-angled slab that rises right to left. It is very smooth and flat and maybe 25’ wide by 100’ long. Third class moves allow access onto this slab. Walk up the slab and look for a 3rd class crack system with blocky stair steps heading upward. Follow this crack system until it peters out to 2nd class. Scramble up to the sunlit N Ridge.

Walk S on the ridge to the middle of five high points which is the summit.

Parents

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
