Enjoyable hike!
Really cool views onto the lava flows and sunset crater. I also liked the views at the S.F. Peaks. The day started out hot and muggy and then some drizzle and thunder at the end. Overall a great day!

Mountain Biked
Started at 12, reached the top of Darton Dome at 1, then did the Lookout and the True Summit. I road down at 2 and made it back to the parking lot in 20 minutes. Great cardio and nice downhill

Vitz did it
Yes, die hard peakbagger John Vitz of Manhattan Beach CA came all the way out here to hike this AZ top 100 (by prominence) peak. He was not fooled by the bump at the lookout tower, but climbed the true high point 1/3 mile west. Do the same, and you can sign his register.

West Face Climb
I climb this peak via the west side. I found a narrow road that went up to around 7500 feet. I hiked straight up the west face which is steep cinder and pine trees. The weather was snowing lightly and had fog moving through. The is a much tougher hike than using the road. I would rate it a moderate using this appraoch.

Nice, easy hike
I enjoyed hiking up to the lookout tower with a couple friends during the drive from Flagstaff to Paria River. We intended to do Humphreys, but the weather wasn't looking too good. It was intensely windy up top, so we ate lunch in the guard tower. The guard was certainly an interesting fellow.

A great hike
The cinders make for great soft but firm footing the whole way up, and the views onto the lava flows and Sunset Crater are amazing. Also, great views of the S.F. Peaks. A thoroughly enjoyable hike and one we will do again...
I summited this mountain years ago. We did it in the winter so we had to park at the main road and hike to the mountain. O'Leary is a deffinatly must do! It's easy but the view is wonderful
