Nice summit. Final summit of a long day. Hit as part of a 35 mile trail running tour of the Mt Spokane area.
Did this one during an early winter storm.
Got to drive up during a VIP tour with a ranger during a summer FFLA gathering.
I began hiking while it was still dark and arrived at the lookout during sunrise. What a fantastic view! The shutters were all up so I could look inside, but the door was locked. This is a great destination with a super-simple road-walk (they call them "trails" because of the winter skiing on them) to the top.
Pre-lookout. We built and fire and roasted marshmallows while watching the fireworks of several towns and cities.
Great views from this peak. The lookout tower is closed right now but will be open in July 2008. Still snow on the mountain or I would have bagged this peak in no more than an hour.
