Popular swimming hole in the summer
Leisurely hike to a pretty alpine lake with a viewpoint perched above it. Many people were lounging on the shore or in the water. Only a few on the peak. The access road is pretty rough.
Did this one with my 3 year old. She hiked a couple miles and was carried the rest. What a fun trip! This would be prefect for beginning backpacking. Trip report here.

Easy effort, big time reward
