Mr. Kenzo Okawa,

Thanks for your vote, and, by the way, thanks for your beautiful pictures of the chineese mountains.

I found this page to be very interesting. Mt. Athos has a special ham radio situation as it is considered in the ham radio community as having country status of its own and is quite sought after by other ham radio operators who like to make contacts with as many countries as they can.

Yes Dean,

Athos is a special place..It's an State within a State (Greece), and it's ruled by a group of 5 monks (Hiera Epistasia)...quite apart. These monks represent the 20 monasteries of the peninsula. Everything is under their control...also the ham radio, as I read in your link tip.

BTW, thanks for your vote !!

Awesome looking peak

No offense to Greece lovers, but until now I hadn't found any reason for me to go to Greece, but I would go there, if I could only climb this peak.

Re: Awesome looking peak

No offense to you, but if you hadnĀ“t found any reason for you to go to Greece is because you were never taking your time to see all the things Greece has to offer: Mount Athos, Olympus Mountain, Pindos Range, Taigetos Range, 33.000 islands, excellent food, authentic passionated people, good weather, Acropolis, hundreds of interesting archeological sites, beautiful villages, Meteora,...just take a look to it and buy a ticket to Greece now.
