Re: minor quibbleThe one with the register vs. the one without the register - that much I'm sure of. And, as the article shows, I'm attempting to determine the higher vs. lower and the named vs. un-named. The "X" on the topo with an elevation would usually make make me think it's the named, highest summit, but this time that doesn't seem to be the case.
Regardless, most people want to sign the register so that's what I call the correct summit.

Re: minor quibbleI was just up there and it seems to me that the bump with the register is the higher one. My guess is that it might be 100 feet higher.

12,473As of August 2017, the Sierra Peaks Section (SPS) recognized the higher, western summit: 12,473'.
