Good Photo!

I remember that road. Did you climb the peak?

Re: Good Photo!

Unfortunately not. It took me four days to get there hitchhiking (very little traffic but good adventure:). When finally there I got seriously sick and had to abandon all my climbing plans. Bad luck!

Re: Good Photo!

I'm very sorry to hear about your illness. Was it related to the altitude? That's very adventurous of you to hitchhike in such a remote area. When I was there it felt like the ends of the earth.

Re: Good Photo!

I had bronchitis. I went to Ojos right after Aconcagua and altitude was not a problem, which only added to the frustration. But at least I could lay in a hot pool near Laguna Verde and take pictures:) And it felt like the end of the earth indeed - only me and two carabinieros in that huge area. Did you climb Ojos?

Re: Good Photo!

We did climb Ojos. What a let down for you though! I had a similar experience in Switzerland last year. I had just finished acclimatizing on Monte Rosa and I was ready to go to Mont Blanc when I found out I needed immediate surgery for a weird health problem. My partner was able to do Mont Blanc solo while I was in the hospital.
