This is a'cracking photo' of The Cobbler. What is a
cobbler? Is that the same as a baker? Or,
does it have to do with horses?
Look at that cloud hanging overhead. Awesome!
Okay, it's a shoemaker! This rocky outcrop
must bear a resemblance to a cobbler's bench!

Re: This is aIt sure was a 'cracking day' we had on The Cobbler, no lightning in sight. Had been before but hadn't climbed onto the summit rock, so was glad to do so. You're right, it does have a resemblence to a cobbler's bench when viewed from the correct angle.

What an awesome photo!It doesn't look that hard, but I'm sure it's pretty gutsy climbing up there without ropes and gear.

Brings back memoriesGreat shot of the Cobbler. The day we were there we had sun, rain and snow--in late May! Turned back from a ropeless climb 15 feet short of the south summit as snow made thing rather greasy.
