Once you top out of the minor mezzanine basin you need to turn left and hike over or around alpine knolls then up the snow or talus to the 7,500-ft saddle on the outlier East Ridge. This saddle is just west of Pt. 7657. Cornicing and steep snow could be a problem in early season. The formation at far right I've called "The Bottles." The route goes around their north side (this side) once you get on the ridge. May 28, 2005.
