Overnight at Kelly
Spent a night at the Kelly backpackers camp, then bagged this in the morning. Heavy frost and rime ice from the cold damp night. The summit was just barely poking out of the clouds. Cool summit block!

Just another great hike from Ice House
Although this area gets packed, it doesn't bother me much because I am on the trail in the dark and coming out when everyone else is just starting. Bighorn is right next door so might as well say hello!
Summited after bagging Bighorn Peak with three other hikers. Got fairly windy before we started our descent back to Icehouse Canyon.

Long Time Ago
I can't even remember when I climbed it specifically, but I know I did, and I know it was a fantastic San Gabriel high country hike with a sweet view. :)

Pleasant hike
Followed the standard trail via Icehouse Canyon to the top. Even though I knew to expect some false summits, even I got to thinking "this one is it", only to round a bend and see some higher rocks. Weather was nice, not too warm. Lots of people ... and dogs lower down.

Long Summit Approach
Much like San Bernardino peak, this too has a seemingly never ending summit approach. The peak is deceiving because you lose altitude at one point and have to regain it. Besides all this, good hike. Would not choose to do it again if I had other hiking options.

From Sugarloaf
Enjoyable, if somewhat loose in spots, ridge climb from Sugarloaf. Continued over False Ontario (like the old summit log) and finished on Bighorn. Nice 4 summit day.
Followed the ridge line from Bighorn. Post holing up to ours waists.

AWESOME!
one of my favorite summits in all of the san gabes. hiked out of icehouse canyon for a long day hike. best time to go is early summer or early fall before the snows and when its not too hot. excellent summit views and an overall enjoyable dayhike.

Hot Day
Made it up, but the heat was a little hard to bear. Not much shade past icehouse saddle in the afternoon. Many false summits to deal with along the ridge.
