Ord Mountain Road
Up from the gate on the Ord Mountain Road on the way back from Thanksgiving weekend in the Mojave desert. Watched the sunset from the summit, very nice.

Followed the road
I didn't have a map but followed my nose and ended up repeating Dennis Poulin's road route all the way up. Up: 2 hours, down: 1 hour. No restrictive signs anywhere. A nice road hike up some stark desert slopes. Beautiful early-morning and cool, especially for late May when the heat is supposed to already be here! Trip report with photos: Ord Mountain, 5/27/08

6 days in the desertWe hiked up the north road to the summit. I was surprised to see that Gerry Roach was the last person to sign only a few days before me.
Over the next 5 days Heather and I did Eureka Dunes HP, Sandy Point, Last Chance, Chocolate, Towne BM, Tucki, and Ibex Dunes HP.
