Base Jump Pants

You see a lot of guides wearing these trousers in the Alps and no wonder, they are a great pair of pants! The fabric resists water and snow quite well and when they do get wet they dry quickly. They are also fantastically flexible and very comfortable to wear. I've used them in both the Alps and the Sierras and they've been great for both scrambling and snow climbing.

The one drawback they have is that they are not ventilated well. There are no sidezips so they can get hot in the summer. I tend to use them either in the autumn and winter or in higher elevations.
