Great book to take with you on your hikes!
This book is small and lightweight and so you can easily tuck it into your pack or even a large pocket in your jacket. I like that the cover is durable and plasticized so it'll keep the book intact even if it gets bumped around a bit. The book is very easy to use for the novice birder. The illustrations are beautiful and the information is good and laid out well.

Or Read It At Home
It's got great pictures and thumbing through it gives you a good idea of what you're looking at when you're out and about. A perfect first guide if you're curious.
