I own a couple of these, and these are a great value for the price. They are very warm, and vent fairly well. They have pit zips, and the shoulders, elbows and collar are lined with nylon-type stuff which has helped keep mine in good shape for the past 2-3 years. In addition to mountaineering, they also double as my winter jacket for around-town use. They're made of 300 wt. Polartec fleece, so they're warm....wait 'till EMS has them on sale (usually for $79 when they do), and that's about half the price of TNF Denali jacket, for basically the same thing. Can't beat that with a stick.

I have the wind-proof version without pit-zips, and I love it. It is great to stash in your pack on dayhikes.

I also use it for warm weather/spring skiing, as long as you don't fall, you won't need anything else.
