Product Description

The CamelBak Vantage 40 Hydration Pack has a three-liter water reservoir, enough cargo space for all-day or quick overnight trips, and a waterproof roll-top. The roll top means when it starts drizzling on your hike, your extra layers and snacks won't get all soggy. An aluminum center stay and a vented, load-bearing waist-belt stabilize your load, and CamelBak's D.V.I.S. Back Panel has independent pods that distribute weight comfortably and provide ridiculously airy, multi-directional ventilation. The medium Vantage Hydration Pack works well for 18-20-inch torso lengths, while the large Vantage fits 20-22-inch torsos.

To Heavy
I have used this pack quite a bit for long day hikes and to carry rock climbing gear into the woods. Its nice for hauling heavy loads, but the pack itself when empty is super heavy. its almost 5 lbs when empty! I have never used it for an over night pack, but I think this would make a good weekender pack. The straps do not open and close smoothly, you really have to work with them for any kind of adjustment as well. The back panel suspension is very nice and feels like a mini trampoline on your back, even though you don't sweat much on your back, its not worth the extra weight that went into this "high tec" design.
