Outstanding View  Sucess!

We made a loop from the Samish Overlook parking area on Blanchard Mountain to Oyster Dome. It was a sunny day with lots of snow, and the views were fantastic! On a side note, driving the road to Samish Overlook while snow covered is NOT recommended....

On the way to Blanchard Hill  Sucess!

Went over to the overlook on my way up Blanchard Hill. Quite a few people coming up as I was going down, given that it was a mediocre foggy weekday morning.

Nice Hike!  Sucess!

Great trail loop from the Overlook Parking Area. Fine place, nicely maintained trails, awesome views! With Lillian, Diana, Sean, Tugboat and Whistler. Lots of trail traffic on the front or more popular side and at the top of the cliffs. The back side was very quiet.

In the fog  Sucess!

Just beautiful  Sucess!

Perfect day. 4-6 hang-gliders were floating overhead at the Samish Overlook.

Took the longer route up, and while there were a few folks on the trail, I was shocked at the masses near the summit. Bypassed them for some solitude near the true summit.

I don't blame them...it was an outstanding day to be up there. Just the same, I took the long route back to avoid the crowds.

Great views  Sucess!

Great afternoon hike with views of the San Juan Islands. I had a great time with EastKing and Josh Lewis.

Pretty  Sucess!

Topped out on Mount Oyster Dome today ... tried a new descent route that involved slipping off the damp slabby rocks near the top. Lots of trail work being done current by the WTA that is improving / switchbacking some of the steeps near the top

Easy hike  Sucess!

Hiked up with all climbing gear, but ended up just soaking up the views (and sun rays). Great napping point.

Bellingham Classic  Sucess!

I've probably hiked up here a dozen times, but was never able to find a page for Oyster Dome on here! I love this hike to the top, and the views on a clear day are astounding. I'll be coming back for decades to come!

Spectacular view  Sucess!

Hiked in from Chuckanut Drive. Great day with a spectacular view from the top. I really wished I had brought my climbing gear. A local climber said the bolts are pretty sketchy and they shouldn really be replaced soon.

Nice view...  Sucess!

of the San Juans. The trail is in bad shape from all the wind storms lately. I've never seen so many downed trees.
