After completing the Class 3 climb of the Trough on the standard Keyhole Route for Longs Peak, you enjoy a few minutes of easy walking that reveals this view to the south (the shattered cliffs are called the Palisades) shortly before you begin the Homestretch, the final push up to the summit plateau of Longs. Palisades

These cliffs, on the southwest side of The Notch are called The Palisades. There are a couple of old climbing routes on them.
