It's really changed

I remember years ago when we did a ski tour from (below) Grossglockner, and one party did also a ski descent through Pallavicini, that in mid June the couloir was filled with excellent snow till its top (Scharte). You had already in May the upper part rocky.

Yes, it was a great surprise for us too. There was snow just about halfway, and then ice. On the rocky part water was coming from everywhere. We thought it would be a comfortable snow "walk" in May, and it was a real ice climb instead.
