Pamola Peak

Pamola Peak

Pamola Peak is at the beginning of the Knife Edge, which traverses across a narrow ridge toward South Peak and then Baxter Peak on the Katahdin Massif. Here Pamola Peak is seen from the slopes of Chimney Peak, another small peak along the Knife Edge. A person can be seen about half way up the peak, which gives some perspective on this terrain. We had to descend that ridge in order to get where we were when this photo was taken. (July 4, 2008)

Justice

Even this doesn't do some stretches justice. Knife Edge might be my favorite ridge walk in the East.

Re: Justice

No picture does justice to what the whole experience is all about. But they are good substitutes and reminders of the enjoyment. It is a unique ridge. I am jealous that you live up in Maine, so close to some great mountains.
