Combo with Chief and Squaw. Easy round trip hike on a sunny May morning. Just a little bit of snow on the Chief Mountain Trail. Easy to avoid snow heading up to Papoose from the saddle with Chief.
With several others. Weather up high was too bad. Stopped by El Rancho Brewery afterwards.
With Maria. We summited Chief first, then went over to Papoose and Lobdellized the summit. Lots and lots of people on Chief, no one at all on Papoose.
Acclimatization hike with Chief mountain
With Chief Mountain.
CMC Trip. We got chief first, then Papoose. We Lobdellized the summit, then headed over to Squaw Mountain. There's still a lot of snow up there, but snowshoes are not required.
After Chief- with rkymtn.
Packed trail to summit of Chief, then had to break trail over Papoose, then packed trail on the road up Squaw.
My wife and I hit Papoose after Chief. This was our third peak for the weekend. We had fun navigating through sugar snow up to the summit.
I've been up Chief at least a dozen times but had never made the short bushwhack over to Papoose. Did it today in about 20 minutes roundtrip (from the saddle on the Chief Mtn. Trail). Worth it for the view of Chief from the summit and the solitude. Heavy graupel on the descent.
Papoose is definitely the nicest of the three in my opinion. Trees, but more seclusion feel to it.
Wasn't sure which was the high point, so I went to all of them. Nice day, love the sun!
Not much of a summit but a logical place to visit if you're combining Chief & Squaw... gotta keep the family complete.
I snowshoed Chief first, then tagged Papoose from the saddle. Now I have the entire Chief Group.
Nice day out, nice lil' hike!
Needed a nice, quiet day that wouldn't "kill" the husband. Trips up Warrior and Papoose met the need. Nice powder from the saddle up to the Papoose summit.
Hiked these two with the wife and the dog. Papoose required some snowshoeing.
