Passing Ironstone Cliffs

Paul Klenke passes by ironstone columns while nearing the summit of Ironstone Mountain, a peak located north of Rimrock Lake in Yakima County, Washington. We mistakenly thought they were basalt columns, but apparently they are a type of sedimentary rock called ironstone... hence, the mountain's name. Photo taken on March 4, 2012.
