Fine end to the outing  Sucess!

The final talus approach was quite annoying in the afternoon heat, making the summit block "interesting" as well, but views into the Summit Lake drainage were truly Elysian. Done after Black Cat.

Unnamed but not Unappreciated  Sucess!

I climbed Peak 11568 and then both ears of Black Cat Peak. Peak 11568 seemed so much farther than it appeared from the pass! It's a worthy peak, though, with excellent views.

Plus Black Cat Peak  Sucess!

Fun day hiking to Black Cat Peak, Summit Lake and Peak 11,568 on a very windy but comfortable day.

After Excelsior/Black Cat  Sucess!

An afterthought on my way back down from Black Cat/Excelsior.

There's somewhat of a use trail along the 11,568 approach ridge- but this dissipates to nothing about halfway to the summit.

Pics and commentary are here.

Windy  Sucess!

Very straightforward, simple hike. Very fun. However, wind gusts were very strong on the summit ridge.
