Little Buddy Summit is more memorable sounding than peak 3985m and considering that this peak is higher than Lone Pine Peak and just as noticeable as the other named peaks surrounding it, it should get its own name. Since noone else has bothered to name it and French took the trouble to put up a summit log, let the name at least unofficially go to him.
I would totally disagree. Unofficial names should be egoless. Name them after a local feature or someone who has died that has a special connection with the area. Placing a register and naming it after your dog is touching, but hardly worthy. I don't see this as a controversy at all. In fact, I would suggest removing that last section from the main page altogether.
