Had an amazing climb up the Direct Route of Pequeno Alpamayo. I did it solo so there was definitely a feeling of being edgy to it, as the airy exposure is definitely hard to ignore. I had a great time though and if you´re going to climb in Condoriri, you should definitely consider going up the Direct Route. I posted a route info page for those interested and you can always message me with questions. One of the most beautiful mountains in South America!!!

Great Climb
The ridge was pretty icy so we placed a few ice screws. Two tools were very useful in these conditions. We climbed P. Alpamayo on day 3 of our trip and felt surprisingly good at the summit. I need to get back to that valley to climb some of the other peaks down there some day.

Normal Route
Nice climb. Great view from Tarija summit; the ridge is stunning from Tarija or from the saddle, and looks huge, but really doesn´t take much time at all. I was lucky and had great weather. Climbed free.

first in Bolivia
Climbed with AlexeyD. Great conditions, no ice, could be done with late start. A downclimb into the sadlle before the final ridge was a little "spicy".

Amazing snow pyramid
After a week of sunny weather, conditions started to deteriorate in the Cordillera Real. Summited in whiteout conditions. Still we did get a glimpse of this mountain on the Tarija descent. Stunning snow peak !
Climbed the ridge as acclimatization with Martl & the Wunderlich brothers. Very beautiful!

Great Climb!
A beautifully aesthetic ridge line on a great Andean peak. My favorite climb that I have done to date. I climbed this peak as an acclimatization peak for Sajama in the 2009 (Northern Hemisphere's) summer season. Writing a trip report as we speak.
Do this climb!!

Normal route
Great climb,no crowds,no penitentes or ice on the route.
Climbed the Direct route on the West Face. Good weather and good snow until we got to the summit when the clouds set in. Descended via the normal route. Was my best climbing experience!! Great Wall!!
After spending a couple of days in La Paz we climbed Pequeno Alpamayo as a warm up for Illimani and Sajama. Many thanks to Bolivia Journeys and Eulogio Tarqui (our guide). www.bolivianjourneys.org (the best muntaineering company in Bolivia...)
