Phelps Lake from Death Canyon

This is near the "mouth" of Death Canyon after you ascend the switchbacks up from Phelps Lake. The annoying moraine is ahead. It's annoying because, after you go down and out of the canyon to Phelps Lake, you then have to go up and over the moraine with about 400 feet of elevation gain and loss at the end of your day. The moraine problem exists because the Rockefeller family owns a ranch at the foot of the lake, blocking the obvious exit. On the good side, the Rockefellers also donated much of the park's land on the valley floor. So it's hard to be too upset.
