Phlox diffusa, Trout Creek, Carson Range

May 15, 2007 There are several varieties of this species in the Tahoe Basin. This variety has tinier flowers and more rounded petals than the common form of Spreading Phlox.

Re: Adorable

These flowers are about the size of a dime and very charming. There is also a pink variety--the flowers open pink rather than turning pink when they're pollinated. And there's a variety with very pointy petals.
