When you are in Seattle, check out Feathered Friends, Pro Mountain Sports, Marmot Mountain Works (in Bellevue actually), and Second Ascent. All better selection than REI.

For big purchases I prefer Pro Mountain Sports (tents, sleeping bags, ice axes, crampons, pro, ropes, etc) For odds and ends and clothing, Second Ascent is great. Marmot and Feathered Friends have the best selection of boots.
