Can anyone suggest a good book which offers climbing routes etc. for the mountain?

Oregon High by Jeff Thomas. It's out of print but I found a used copy at Powells.

Selected Climbs in the Cascades (Nelson/Potterfield) has the South Side Palmer Glacier and the Sandy Headwall listed.
