Conditions Stubai Alps

by Lukas Kunze » Tue Aug 15, 2006 3:33 pm

I' m planning a week trip to the Stubai Alps (around Franz-Senn hut). Does anybody know something about the current conditions in the Stubai Alps? The lower temperatures and the snow fall last week should have improved the bad conditions of the last weeks...

Thanks in advance
Cheers Lukas

Hi Lukas, I was there 1 week ago, I did a traverse from the Starkenberger Hut, to the Franz Senn Hut, finally the Neue Regensberger Hut. There was pretty good snow cover at passes above 2000 meters. I met some guys doing the entire Stubai Hoehenweg, and they talked about thigh-deep snow at the highest areas. Good days like today will help it melt. This morning there were low clouds over Munich but from Karwendel Range to the south it looks like the peaks get all-day sun.
