Conditions: Wilder Kaiser

June 27: We climbed "Blue Moon" (VI+, 12 pitches) on the Kopfkraxe above Scheffau. Contrary to reports a few days earlier, the crux lieback crack pitch was not wet. Yay! Snowfree approach/descent.

July 1: Climbed "Via Aqua" (VII-, 25 pitches) on the Kleine Halt in Kaisertal. Some wetness on the third pitch, but it didn't pose a problem. Otherwise, this long and interesting route was free of the waterfalls that characterize it in periods of rain. A long day up and down...left the car at 5 am in Kufstein, returned at 10 pm, after a leisurely dinner and beer at Hinterbaerenbad, watching the light leave the face.

If you climb anything in the Wilder Kaiser this year, please add a brief note as a reply to this thread. You can point to a picture or TR if you have it. Thanks!
