excess glue on skins?

by triyoda » Tue Apr 03, 2018 7:04 am

I have a set of G3 skins, probably used about six times. After about the second trip with these, I have had continued problems with goobers of glue sticking to my skis, even when I had just waxed them. This then leads to snow sticking and is a major pain. I tried to remove some excess glue from the skins themselves and I also figured after a few cycles of getting excess glue on the skis and then removing this would get everything back to normal, but this is still not working right.

Any suggestions? Are G3s just bad, what should I get? I don't want to trash skins that have been barely used, but I would rather just pay $180 for something new if I can make this go away (life is too short).

place parchment paper over skins and iron on medium heat. let cool just a bit then remove paper. this usually works. paper bags that contains some wax in the paper can also work.

I also roll my skins and don't fold them.
