First ascent sources in Cali

by Snowslogger » Mon Oct 04, 2010 9:58 pm

So if I was curious about whether a route in the Sierra has been climbed before how would I go about looking into it? I looked at the Secor book and it's not in there. What other sources are there - American Alpine Journal? Anything of the Sierra Club? Others? Preferably online.

AAJ was often incorporated into Secor's guide. Though not sure how complete the integration was.

Roper guide to High Sierra is a source

Hervey Voge guide to High Sierra is a source

Summitpost.com is a source

rockclimbing.com

supertopo.com (but it's not a db per se that users can add new routes to)

www.bing.com or www.google.com for internet based TRs.

go forth and search, and report back with a TR!!
