You might consider the addendum that:
6. If you were not already thoroughly aware of all these reasons, you have no business on a big and dangerous mountain.

"Danger" and "Death" are two of your five and considered separate issues? You might impress the tourist crowd with such language and fear, but for most of us who take climbing more serious in our lives besides watching programs on TV or the the local IMAX theater or training at the local snow slope.....there are many more reasons that top what you listed why "not" to join the circus on Mount Everest.

Those sound like very obvious reasons why not to climb everest............ How about the fact that if you have no climbing expirience and pay some guiding service up the mountain that you are puttting your sorry ass and everyone elses at risk. ALTHOUGH not the most challenging peak it is quite dangerous and the 26k-29k death zone is nothing to be thought of easy.

I would say the guiding service is just as responsible for taking an inexperienced person up.

I can choose to do Everest next season. Any guide that says yes, is a fool.

I think most people would see number 2 as a benefit, not a cost. If you are spending tens of thousands of dollars on an expedition, you will have great motivation to get into shape.

Haha how many times did you hear "So when will you climb Everest?" from your friends and other people that know you hike/climb?
I hate this stupid question, with the whole "conquer the top of the world/mountain" mentality.

Ahh no one in particular but everyone in general

All high altitude climbs require mental health...... With the small supply of oxygen your brain begins to deteriorate and you can't think straightly.
I think that is the most serious killer on 18,000 foot + mountains when inexperienced climbers are having trouble trying to make another step forward
because of the altitude. So as a guide your stuck with some client who is dying. AND then What ? Do you leave him and live with the guilt of his death or do you yourself die trying to save him and probably die in the process ?

I just can't get over the cost issue. $10,000-25,000 for a permit from the government of Nepal?! And that's, not including all the other costs associated with expeditions. It's amazing to me how much disposable income people have (or have saved) to climb big mountains.

Joe Everest is one of the most over commercialized climbs ever...... Nepal is trying to get as much cash from this
as possible. The permit used to cost 75.0000 until people realized that the Tibet side is offering for cheaper then it
finally lowered it prices to 10,000 to 25,000.

And thats only the permit... Porters,Food,Air-flight,Equimpent,etc will all come to be over 100k atleast
