Like I said, this wan't a serious topic and has nothing to do with ego. My guess is that the majority of the SPrs would not use the routes I will be using as they aren't technical climbs for the most part. So ego no, and if wanted this to serious I would have asked about elevation gain and the length of the route. Elevation gain by itself is not really a meaningful number till you know the length of the route.

Where's The Chief When you need him?

"YOU GUYS ARE TAKEN THIS WAY TO FREAKEN SERIOUSLY!"

There's one important thing you need to know about climbers Neophiteat48. They are assholes for the most part, especially on the internet. In person, its only behind your back. Everything is a competition and everyone is always right. Its a stereotype, so if you really get more into climbing, you better have the balls to handle the scrutiny. For me, its about having fun, and figuring out the best way to have fun while doing it.

So everyone who disagrees with me, please let me know how wrong I am and lay it in on me.

These reply's don't bother me in the least. Only 1000pks, seems to hate everyone and the world but it's obvious to take the rest with a grain of salt. I do things for my own gratification, not to impress anyone else. So all the big egos can do their thing and I'll do mine. This was never meant to be anything else than as fun thread and something that may have been interesting. It's all good. And like I said, my routes will be non techinal climbs, so the big egos would never be impressed with my climbs anyways, and I don't care. Cheers!!:)

Contrary to popular belief, when Alex Lowe said "The best climber is the one having the most fun," he actually meant that he, the Best Climber, was having the most fun, and all us miserable chubbers are the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked.

Probably smart not to take any of this too seriously :) You have to expect to become the butt of a few jokes on SP at some point or another. Goes with the territory.

My dearest friends have their own idiosyncrasies too -- some things they do just make me scratch my head and laugh

Since I'm also a caver, I have to add in the negative altitude changes from going underground.

Let's see.... this peak... that cave... another peak... a deeep cave...

Damn! My total is frickin' ZERO!

All that effort and I'm a ZERO!

Boo-hoo!

Sierra Ledge Rat = LOSER!

If your number is zero, you have no place here on SP.
