how to get to Patagonia

by AnnMikaela » Sun Nov 24, 2013 11:34 pm

Hi!
I arrive in Santiago the 15 December, and will head south towards Patagonia and stay until the end of January. I do not have any fixed plans at all, so I am very flexible, but I would be keen to do a lot of climbing and hiking when I am down there.

Does anybody know about buses and prices from Santiago, or Puerto Montt to Punta Arenas, I know it takes time, but I have time. Please let me know if you have some information.

I would be super keen to find a climbing partner or hiking partner so give me a shout if you are around at this time.

AnnMikaela,

Have you considered getting down there by water ferry? I've heard this is a pretty scenic sail. It may be more interesting than overnight bus tripping.
When I was down in Puerto Montt, I flew to Punta Arenas (due to time constraints). But if you have lots of time, consider mixing it up by water and bus..
