Improvement: Vote list

by hansw » Sat Aug 14, 2010 10:10 pm

I understand that the site developers are eagerly waiting for suggestions for improvements.

Here is one:

An option on the profile page that lists votes given to ones contributions ordered by date.

Bulk detacher to help people clear out pages with hundreds of redundant and/or bad photos.

Or at least fix the detach feature so every time you detach, you don't then go back to the first group of pictures.

I second the idea of Delete All for photos and other submissions, but not for forum posts.

It would also be nice if people could change their own user names without asking the Elves to do so.

Yeah, but should we have folks DELETE their own posts ...

or should there be an individual specifically hired to do so?

"Whatsa-madder-U ? Want me to delete your page, Punk?"

bulk uploader would be a great

Yes, that way periodically the server space will be cleared up for actual climbing photos rather than girls in bikinis and summit can shots.

Can't we compromise? I'm all for pictures of summit cans if they're done right.

To elaborate-- When you attach preexisting images to a page, you can attach up to 10 at a time by clicking on them and then hitting the attach command.

So why can't you do the same with detaching?

When you detach, you see all the photos in order of most recently attached. Say you want to attach the first and second of 300 photos. You have to click through 30 sets of 10 photos, detach one, and then do it all again because each time you detach, it takes you back to the most recent pictures first.

Why do you want that? I imagine there would be a lot of folks changing rapidly to spray and harrass.

I would love to see a feature where you can vote on a SP member.

I am not talking about his or her contributions, but voting for him or herself. Wouldn't that be something.

True, but you would always know who it was by looking at the person's profile page and seeing contributions. And if the person had no contributions and was harassing people, then the moderators should be quick to pull the trigger and boot the person for good. But that brings up another issue which has been beaten to death here...
