Newbie

Hey ya'll, I have been lurking for awhile, and thought I'd finally come out and post my first post. I am fairly new to the whole hiking/climbing experience, but so far, what I have done, I have loved. And I want to do more. I have never actually "climbed" a mountain before, with gear and all, so I thought it couldnt hurt to post on here to see if someone would be willing to show me the ropes. I have done a fair amount of hiking, if that counts for anything. Can anyone help me out here?

here's an article EB (i think?) wrote. it's pretty beneficial.
"Yeah, I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work" - Peter Gibbons

Read the article, then Freedom of the hills. Best to start small: hike up mountains, backpack up mountains, hike and backpack up taller mountains learn to rock climb, etc.

If you have some money, hire a guide and see how you like it.

Freedom of the Hills is the bible.
