Phantom Terrace

by captain.ron » Wed May 23, 2018 10:11 am

Hello all, I was just wondering if anyone knows the current conditions around the Venable Lakes area/phantom terrace loop hike. My plan is to head out there from Missouri in 2 weeks and hike Venable, Spring, and Comanche peaks. If anyone has any news about snow or advice I would love to hear about it! Thanks

Looking for the same info myself, snotell stations give good information on snowpack. What I can say in general is that the Rockies are slammed with snow from this season, with resorts like Aspen still open, so there's still snow above 10k in most places, and where there isn't snow there's lots of mud and surging streams. I would recommend calling a local ranger station for up to date conditions.
